Microtrak Laser Selected By Key Tire Company For Precise, Repeatable Tread Depth & Runout Measurements

Car tire
When we operate our vehicle in snowy or rainy weather, we expect smooth braking and responsive handling, even in the most adverse weather conditions. Studies show that uneven or worn tire tread limits vehicle traction, and can severely affect vehicle performance.

Application Tip

When using a laser triangulation sensor to measure targets with abrupt step height changes ensure the receive optics of the laser head are not obstructed by the step. This is accomplished by positioning the laser head so that the triangulation path is parallel to the axis of the feature being measured.
