What's the name of an Accurate, Precise Eddy current Xducer?....... A.P.E.X.!
MTI Instruments is pleased to introduce the new APEX series of Eddy Current Transducers. MTII has long been recognized as a leader in high performance non-contact measurement solutions based on laser, fiber-optic and capacitance technologies and this new eddy current sensor line expands our offering and sets a new standard for high value precision measurement. With measurement ranges from 0.25 to 50 mm and resolutions to 0.5 microns, APEX is ideal for displacement, position, vibration and machinery monitoring applications. Additionally, the rugged eddy current sensor design is unaffected by water, oil or other contaminants within the measurement gap.
Application Guide for Eddy Current Sensors
What's an Eddy Current???? Want to learn more about this technology and how to apply it? MTII has developed an easy to read technical note describing the principle of eddy current sensing technology. It outlines detailed application requirements including target size, material, thickness and the environment in which they operate. Additionally, this paper summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of eddy current sensors as compared to laser, fiber-optic and capacitance technologies.
Application Tip
The sensitivity and resolution of an eddy current sensor can be affected by the target material being measured. MTII calibrates all eddy current probes to a 4140 steel target, per API-670 standards; however, if requested MTII will calibrate to any customer supplied material.
Here We Grow Again
MTI Instruments is pleased to introduce our newly designed website. Along with our new look and easy navigation comes a variety of features including e-commerce, investor relations, and the exciting "MTI University", featuring videos, 3-D product and application animations, FAQ's, tips and application notes, to name a few.
