MTII Expands Product Offering By Introducing Two New Laser Heads

Expand the measuring capabilities of your Microtrak II with two new interchangeable laser heads. MTI Instruments Inc. introduces the LTC-025-04/S, a specular laser head that provides precision measurements of highly reflective, polished and mirrored-type surfaces, and the LTC-200-100, a long-range diffuse laser head with exceptional operating distance (200 mm) and measurement range (+/-50 mm).

The innovative optical design and CMOS detection technology combined with MTII’s proprietary software algorithms offer the highest resolution and fastest response available today. Each laser head stores critical parameters such as linearity correction and performance sensitivity which is communicated directly to the Microtrak II signal processor upon power up. This enables every laser head to be operated with any Microtrak II controller without the need or cost of matched calibration, a first in the industry. This versatility makes the Microtrak II a cost-effective solution for factory automation and quality control applications.

1500CS Precision Calibrator

The new 1500CS from MTI Instruments solves all these problems in a rugged portable package. A unique concept in test instruments, the 1500CS combines the functions of five separate instruments in a digitally-synthesized, hand-held unit – complete with laboratory accuracy and features. With 2-channel, 16-bit Direct Digital Synthesis and accuracies of 0.1% or better, the 1500CS will quickly become your favorite piece of test equipment.

Application Tip

The MTI-2100 Fotonic sensor probes can be calibrated to measure to almost any target surface or material, however, higher reflective surfaces provide a better signal-to-noise ratio because of the increase in received light. When possible, use a polished or mirror type finish as a target. If feasible, a reflective paint or coating can be applied to the target surface to enhance reflectivity.
