TSC-4100R  previousnext

The TSC-4100R is a self-contained unit that can be used in engine test cells, or for on-wing applications where a 1/revolution tachometer signal is required for engine balancing purposes. The tachometer signal conditioner does not require that the user specify how many teeth are on the speed sensor wheel. The Model TSC-4100R automatically calculates the number of teeth and produces an output pulse only when it finds a significant difference in the tach signal.

An add-on for engine test systems requiring circuitry to detect the unique one-per-revolution signal embedded in multi-tooth speed signals.

The TSC-4100R is a self-contained unit that can be used in engine test cells or for on-wing applications where a 1/revolution tachometer signal is required for engine balancing purposes. The tachometer signal conditioner does not require that the user specify how many teeth are on the speed sensor wheel. MTII's Model TSC-4100R automatically calculates the number of teeth and produces an output pulse only when it finds a significant difference in the tach signal.

Fast, accurate lock-in

Many engines incorporate "embedded" 1/revolution signals in their N1 signals. These embedded signals are generally produced using a single shortened or lengthened tooth out of 30 or 60 teeth normally present on a speed sensor wheel. To extract this unique signal requires a fast and agile circuit.

The TSC-4100R contains fast auto-ranging detector circuitry that automatically locks on the single unique pulse found in the tachometer signals and produces a solid and steady 1/revolution TTL signal. The circuitry does not need to be pre-set with the number of teeth, nor does it require advance indication of whether the unique tooth is long or short.

Tachometer signals can also vary in amplitude as an engine operates throughout the speed range. The TSC-4100R auto-sensing circuitry also compensates for signal amplitude variations to ensure a reliable speed signal.
