1D Laser

MTI Instruments offers high speed, high resolution and highly accurate laser position sensors (non-contact linear position sensor) for measuring displacement and position. Our laser measurement systems allow easy position setup and alignment with its visible laser position spot. Quality and process control applications that require accurate warpage, alignment, lead position on integrated circuits, sheet and web thickness measurements can be precise and repeatable as our laser displacement measurement sensors are equipped with an auto gain feature making it unaffected by surface (i.e. energy reflections) texture, color or stray light. Our large variety of non contact displacement sensor line up including laser triangulation sensors provide operating distances to 300mm, measurement ranges to 200mm and measurement resolution to less than 1 micron.

Capacitance Sensors

MTI capacitance measurement system is based on the principle of parallel plate capacitor measurement. TM The electrical capacitance formed between a capacitance probe and a target surface varies as a function of the distance (gap) between these two surfaces. Capacitance based measurement probes have long been employed as a means of non-contact measurement of electrically conductive materials. In a typical system, MTII's capacitance probe acts as one of the plates and the grounded target the other plate. MTII's amplifier converts the gap's capacitance into a output voltage proportional to the gap. Capacitive measurements are very stable rivaling interferometer accuracy. The Capacitance is not adversely affected by temperature, humidity and pressure.
